Staffing

Management Team

​

The Management Team are responsible for providing quality childcare, while running and developing Acorn Childcare UK. They are highly qualified, degree led and have many years of experience in childcare. They are:

  • Childcare Manager Mrs Debbie Hasson

  • Deputy Childcare & Curriculum Manager Mrs Lorraine Morrissey

  • Business Manager Mrs Alesha Lewis

  • HR Manager Mrs Sharon Wake

Room Leaders

​

Each room within the nursery is overseen by a Room Leader. Room Leaders are responsible for supporting staff, overseeing of planning of activities, communication with parents, overseeing Tapestry and the childrens learning journals and the development of the childrens social, emotional and physical development. 

Early Years Practitioners

​

Each room is supported by Early Years Practitioners. They are involved in meeting the children’s physical, social and emotional needs during their time in nursery. Each Early Years Practitioner has a small group of ‘Key Children’ and are directly responsible for observing the children. All Early Years Practitioners are qualified in childcare, to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or are on an apprenticeship scheme. 

Early Years Practitioner Assistants

Early Years Practitioner Assistants play an important role in ensuring that the children’s physical, social and emotional needs are met within the rooms. They are fully interactive with the children during the day and are a source of support to Early Years Practitioners. 

Ongoing Training

​

First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene qualifications are undertaken by staff on a regular basis. Acorn Childcare UK is committed to its staff and their training programmes.

Many of our staff have graduated to a degree level in Early Years.

All staff within Acorn Childcare UK are required to undergo clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and suitability checks, in line with the requirements of Ofsted.
