Management Team

The Executive Team are responsible for providing quality childcare, running and developing Acorn Childcare UK as a whole organisation. They are highly qualified and are well experienced in childcare. They are:

  • Childcare Manager Mrs D. Hasson
  • Deputy Childcare & Curriculum Manager Mrs L. Morrissey
  • Business Manager Mrs A. Lewis
  • HR Manager Mrs S. Wake

Room Co-ordinators

Within each centre, each age-group area is overseen by the Room Co-ordinator. Room Co-ordinators are responsible for the planning of activities in the rooms, communication with parents, overseeing child observation folders and the children’s welfare.

Nursery Nurses

Each area is supported by the Nursery Nurses working within the room. Nursery nurses are involved in the direction and enjoyment of children’s activities and meeting the children’s physical and emotional needs during their time in Nursery. Each Nursery Nurse has a small group of ‘Key children’ whose direct observations and medication needs are their responsibility. All Nursery Nurses are qualified in childcare to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

Staffing structure

Nursery Assistants play an important role in ensuring that the children’s physical and emotional needs are met within the rooms and the preparation of the room set-up. They are fully interactive with the children during the day and are a source of support to Nursery Nurses. Nursery Assistants are qualified in childcare to NVQ level 2 or equivalent or are training towards their qualification.

Ongoing Training

First Aid, Safeguarding, Life Saving and Food Hygiene qualifications are undertaken by staff on a regular basis. Acorn Childcare is committed to its staff and their training programmes.

Many of our staff have graduated to a degree level in Early Years.

**All staff within Acorn Childcare UK are required to undergo Criminal Records clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and suitability checks, in line with the requirements of Ofsted Early Years Inspectorate.
