Who We Are
Acorn Childcare UK is a registered charity run by a Management Committee, registered charity number 1090086.
As a charitable organisation, we collect no profit and re-invest all income within the running and improvements of our facilities and invest in our high quality staffing team.
Originally, in 1992, Acorn Childcare UK was set up as a nursery facility within the grounds of Headlands Primary School, Northampton. We have approximately 200 children registered for care with us, from the ages of 3 months to 11 years.

Ethos
We encourage children’s social and emotional development within a caring and friendly environment. We work to help build children’s sense of self-value and confidence.
Working to understand and meet the needs of each child on an individual basis whilst encouraging the children’s consideration of peer groups and appreciation of different cultures and backgrounds.
We encourage children’s physical and intellectual development, providing activities that strengthen and expand their capabilities within an enjoyable play setting.
We provide parents with clear information regarding their child’s development , whilst protecting the privacy and security of other children and families.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive setting, with trained staff working with children needing additional support. We work with experienced professionals and agencies and fully understand the process of requesting an Educational Health and Care Plan.

We use Tapestry at Acorn, Tapestry is an education platform which allows staff and parents to upload observations and activities which chart a child's learning journey.
​
At Acorn we have our own cook and offer a healthy and varied menus. We cater for all dietary needs and we are proud of our five star Food Hygiene rating.
We work to ensure that all staff are provided with equal access to further qualifications. We value each and every member of staff and their contribution to the childcare environment. We provide a safe and secure culture within our organisation for our staff as their well-being is our priority.
